RL 338 Archaeology, History and Religion in Ancient Israel

An introductory study of the history, religion, and material culture of the ancient Near East including Mesopotamia, Egypt, and the Levant with special reference to the Bible. Emphasis will be given to the history and methodology of Syro-Palestinian archaeology in order to inform the context and background for the Scriptures. Prerequisite: RL 101 . 3 hrs
